Internet Marketing, as well as Affiliate Marketing is a science onto it's own, but far from difficult to get a grip on. I started out by searching the Internet and clicking from one offer to another, filling in the forms when something was offered for free (I had registered a separate email-account because I knew I was going to get hit with a lot of emails the moment I signed up for something).
And that is when my research really started and I gained the knowledge needed.
If you really want to get off to a flying start, then click on the banner above and I promise, you will never pay anything at all, except for your time and effort!
From my experience, first and foremost you should set up a website with a blog, as I have done here. Then, as most experts will tell you, it is of paramount importance to find a niche for your product or service. Everybody has a specialty, no matter what it may be and with the millions and millions of people who surf the Internet 24/7 around the world, I am sure you can find one. Don't worry if there are others out there already with a niche like yours. You just have to try to set yourself apart by most importantly, being honest about what you are delivering!
My idea is that it is best to set up a website.
There are many Hosts that provide a website (Domain) like Google and Yahoo, but also many others like www.godaddy.com, www.webhostinghub.com, www.inmotionhosting.com, www.hostgator.com which are very good and consistently rank at the top of many credible reviews. But there are many more. Compare which is most appealing to you, especially when it comes to designing your website!
You may want to also consider webhosting services that are absolutely free of charge, like the one I'm using here at www.weebly.com. Their setup is very easy and user friendly and inter-links with Google very nicely, which some others do not do as well. These free webhosting providers will give you a so called sub-domain, like mine (e.g. www.internetadvisor.weebly.com) which is from my experience just as good as any other domain. There are experts who would disagree with me here, but from my experience they are just as good, especially for starting literally from scratch.
There are others like www.000webhost.com which is also very nice, but Weebly is definitely better, especially when it comes to designing the site and inter-linking with Google which is very important because you want them to help you guide visitors to your site, also through their advertisements.
However, please feel free to go to the above mentioned websites, if you think you will be more comfortable with a paid domain. Just click on the link above, or the icon below.
Now you have found your niche and set up your website, but how do you get visitors to your site? This is where it gets a bit tricky, but do not despair. Before you publish your site, be sure to add unique keywords and description of your site (your provider usually helps you here) in order to have search engines pick up your site.
Another important aspect is to get advertisers on your site. While it is helpful if they complement your niche product or service, this is not necessarily a must. There are what I call "broadband" advertisers, which rotate various adverts on your site and you can get paid by either your visitors clicking on them and/or purchasing their products or services. One of which I can recommend is www.bivertiser.com (click either the link or the icon below). With reference to my "Disclosure" comment on my Home page, I need to point out that Bidvertiser rotates adds. While that is good for your website visitors, it also means you have no control. Sometimes there could be adverts that could potentially be a scam. But they also show advertisements for worthy and charitable causes. I have already contacted them to find a way to avoid these adds which could be scam. All-in-all Bidvertiser is OK.
Once you have published your site go to www.google.com/adsense. There you will be shown how to place their adds once you are accepted. This may take a while, but not too long. Also, it is extremely helpful if you sign up for Google analytics at www.google.com/analytics in order for you to see how many visitors have gone to your site and how it was used. Extremely helpful in order to maximise your website visibility!
Affiliate marketing is something you should try to focus on with products that somewhat relate to your niche. The best know to be an affiliate of, besides Amazon and ebay, is ClickBank.com. If you would like to know more about it, or sign up, click on the corresponding link below. But there are also many others. Just scour the web and you can find them very easily. Be sure that the one you choose covers your location. Best is, if it is global and products can be downloaded. There are still some vendors that sell via CD's and they don't ship everywhere.
Last but not least, build an email list. I abstain from an autoresponder service, because I want my service to be personal and I will not send emails to anyone if I don't feel it would be justified and in their true interest. It's a lot of work, but for me it's worth it after I have seen not only with what I get bombarded, but also the tons of rubbish! Start with your friends and relatives and ask them to spread the word to their friends and so on. Quickly you will have a list which you can then categorize and send your emails accordingly. However, if you really want to use an autoresponder, the best which is free is www.ListWire.com. If you do use one, then it might also be advisable to use a Squeeze page and there are numerous free services offered like www.instansqueezepagegenerator.com which can also be helpful i building a mailing list, which is essential for your marketing!
There are also websites for traffice exchange to enhance your website's visibility. But keep in mind that many of the subscribers to these services are also marketers and not necessarily actual endusers.
The best I have found to get your website lodged with all major search engines is definitely www.submitstart.com which is free of charge, but there are many others. You will need get credits to email & advertise, mainly by clicking and reading others advertisements.
Write blogs, either on you website, facebook, or twitter and refer to your site. You can also register your blog with google for greater visibility. Another great site for blogging and very friendly with Google is www.hubpages.com !
Now you are basically set to go! Let me know if you need anything else by contacing me and I will get back to you asap.
